Artist's statement
Remove a device called 'Understanding' from this world. 'Understanding' is only able to understand that it can. Try to capture the images of the unimaginable left behind from the absence of understanding. Photograph is not a device that understands and translates the world but is a device that corresponds to the world without having to understand at all. Capturing images is not an act of accurately reproducing. Even if seen one hundred times the outline becomes ambiguous, untraceable, misleading only to be indefinitely mistaken. Exploding the outline. Abandon this outline, abandon this division. As like Fujieda Shizuo's 'Kuki atama'. To trace is to make something disappear, a betrayal to be tamed. To be uninhibited the cycle is destroyed. At last photograph is not able to attain perception. Perception is abandoned. ' To live is to become imperceptible.' Gilles Deleuze
Osamu Kanemura, 2007
from Gallery
Osamu Kanemura's works is connected directly to a perception that continuously disturbs the peacefulness in society. It makes people remain there, in front of his works. At the present day, we have been seeing, researching only one's own interest an action that seems to effect the practical society. I would like many people to feel Osamu Kanemura's of his works. Please come and experience this world at Port Gallery T.
